NMRShiftDB in motion

The NMRShiftDB server network is currently undertaking major reconstruction.  We have physically moved the server previously running at CUBIC to its new location in the NMR labs of the University of Mainz, run by Heinz Kolshorn, where the machine is now running as http://nmrshiftdb.chemie.uni-mainz.de.

The two servers impersonating nmrshiftdb.org, running at the Max-Planck-Institute for Chemical Ecology in Jena, will have their operating system moved from SUSE to Debian and will be reinstalled afterwards.  We do not expect things to be overly shaky but you never know.

Chris, thanks for the heads up. How will the application itself change – or are the changes limited to network infrastructure?

  2. Christoph says:

Rich, the database functionality will not be changed. This was to inform the people who used particular nmrshiftdb node directly instead of using the load scheduling.

  3. Since the Mainz server redirected me to the MPI server, which does not seem back online yet…

Using the direct link to the Mainz node worked, including logging into my account…

So, HTTPS is working too. Submit seems broken; that is, the ‘add miscalenous’ (typo?) gets me to an empty page, except for some weird chars…
