The traditional tavern "Roka" in Oia, Santorini, Greece

The “Roka” is a wonderfully hidden place to end you day in Oia, difficult to find but only a minute away from the main marble walk way along the border of the caldera. The dishes as well as the house wine are all perfectly prepared, the service friendly and the prices extremely adequate. We tend to eat five to ten small dishes in greek restaurants – here we had not a single one which cannot be recommended and visited the place two times in this week to eat ourselves through most of the menu. The second time we went there, we met a number of people from the first visit 🙂

I can’t recommend this Ouzeri more highly. I have been to Greece 7 times, and this is one of the best I have had the pleasure to experience. My husband and I ate there 4 times in our four days on Oia. We just happend on it and later were told by others that it’s the place where locals eat. And, if you are fortunate enough to go there, please say “Yassou” to the young owners, – Chef Ellie, her brother Fotis who waits tables, and the other tall waiter, Michalis. In fact, give Michalis a “high five” from Pavlos (Paul). He’ll know. Have a great trip!
